Salon Tips

Try these unbeatable tips for a quick fix or a lasting style!

SUMMER HAIR TIPS:
If you normally use hot hair tools (blow dryers, hot irons, electric curlers) every day, try and give your hair a break during the summer months. Consider letting your air dry. Take a break from hot curling.

For extra conditioning treatment apply a deep conditioner to damp or dry tresses, wrap in plastic wrap or a shower cap just before bedtime. Allow the deep conditioner to soak into damaged hair sections overnight for extra repair and re-moisturizing benefits.

Use SPF Shampoos to protect your hair from the sun. Direct sunlight will damage your hair. In addition, use sunscreen products made for hair.

HAIR TRENDS AND TECHNIQUES:
Waves are always in, no matter what the season, so that’s why you can never go wrong with this style. Twist your strands around your fingers for a piecey, almost tangled look. You can also curl your hair midway and tousle with your fingers or have a sexy swept pony by pulling the pony to the side and working a texturizing cream through it.

If you have big curls and full hair, don’t fight it! Let your wild curls come to life this summer; after all, it’s all about bringing out that natural beauty! Curl random strands here and there with a curling iron, leaving some looser than others. You can also do a half-up bump while styling the pony with a spray gel. Already have a full head of curls? Fluff them up with a serum to get the most out of them!

Tie it back. When you participate in athletic endeavors this summer, choose a classic style. A simple ponytail, a braid or pigtails can give your hair the best functional look and feel. Keeping your hair off your back and out of your eyes makes you more comfortable and gives you better concentration.

Consider a shorter cut. This time of year, wilder looks and textures are in. Get a little crazy and try a sassy new look. Shorter styles require less maintenance than longer hair. With the right beauty regimen and a few good styling products, pixie cuts, bobs and other shorter styles can be just as fun as any other hairdo.
